A striking portrait of Abraham Lincoln rests upon premium paper that still retains its originality and quite a bit of its brightness. Wear is light, gentle, and well in line for the grade. The black color is still rich, the red seal is still strong, the blue serial numbers still offer pizzazz, and the orange ink on both sides remains fresh and unoxidized.
Margins are well framed and more than ample. As with all varieties in this issue, this example is very elusive with only 55 known in all grades, many of which would only rate as'details' pieces. This premium example would be the highlight of many significant collections.
