This is a spectacular ring. The stone is an uncommon, much sort after, yellow sapphire which has been identified as'Natural Corundum Yellow Sapphire' with'No Evidence of Treatment' by AnchorCert Gem Lab. The certificate is included with the ring. We estimate the cushion cut sapphire to weigh approximately 3.54 carats, set in a rubover setting.

The stone is set in a beautifully rich coloured 15 carat gold. The shoulders of the ring and the profile of the setting have a delicately engraved filigree design. There is a full British hallmark which dates this Victorian ring to 1888.

The ring is stamped with'15' and'625' for 15 carat gold, and the'anchor' of the Birmingham Assay Office and the date letter'O' for 1888. The head is 10.8 mm by 12.1 mm approx. The head sits approx 5.5 mm high off the finger.

The weight of the ring is 5.4 grams approx. The yellow sapphire weighs 3.54 carats approx. UK: K USA: 5 1/8.
