Antique Diamond Necklace Platinum Gold 9ct Diamonds GIA Certificate c1900 (5270)

Antique Edwardian Belle Epoque necklace. Diamonds set in platinum on 18k yellow gold. Measurements: approximately 14 1/2 inches long. Approximately 8.81ct diamonds, including the following: One old mine cut diamond weighing 1.95ct with a GIA Certificate; 12 old mine and old European round cut diamonds approx 5.36ct; 94 rose cut diamonds and 6 European cut diamonds. Diamonds are I-J in color. Necklace with diamonds set in platinum resting on a layer of 18k yellow gold. High quality, excellent workmanship typical of Edwardian jewels. The largest diamond is in the center of the necklace. It is somewhat square or cushion shaped.

Linked by pairs of smaller diamonds in square mounts to large round diamonds - 6 on either side of the central stone. Square mounts with diamonds make up the back of the necklace. Clasp is very fine: Very closely set (almost invisible to the naked eye) diamonds in a round clasp. The catch is extremely finely done, but easy to use. There is a tiny pair of loops that can have a safety chain attached.

Marks: no marks were found, but metals were tested and guarranteed as described. Condition: good with negligible wear commensurate with age.
